My funny Valentine

Today was filled with only good news! Most importantly, Romy's head hasn't grown any so they're no longer concerned about bleeds or excess fluid. They also don't believe her foot has anything to do with Cerebral Palsy.....double good news! They had a fresh-outta-med school orthopedic doc come look at her and after he drilled me about drug/cigarette/alcohol use,(grrrr!) he thought she was born with a foot deformity called congenital vertical talus. I kind of questioned it considering nobody had noticed it until recently, and her first ultrasound and all of her early pictures showed a normal foot. So the head orthopedic doc came and examined her and concluded that it wasn't a deformity she was born with. It's caused by the way she lays down and how the pulse-ox moniter pulls on her foot. They've taken it off to relieve some pressure and some physical therapy massages and exercises should clear it up in no time....triple good news:) Daddy Ray did some kangarooing today, and she was grunting at him the whole time, it was very cute. They also put on her very first outfit last night. There's a group called "Threads of Love" who make stuff for preemies in the NICU. They made her a little pink smock that velcro's closed for easy access. She looked so weird in clothes! I'm so used to a naked baby.
